Yes, it does look as though Robocopy would do the trick too, though I would of course then be forced to run my script on a moribund (and un-free) operating system!

Seriously, rsync has some serious advantages over robocopy, such as the abilty to copy over SSH connections so you can use it to move files over the web with the flick of a command-line argument.
