BDD Training

Update: This training is now available as a public course, starting October 8th in London.

Would you like to learn how Behaviour-Driven Development can help your company get better at software development?

I’ve helped several teams learn BDD, and I’ve started to formalise the training I’ve been doing into a set of course modules. The modules aim to provide the foundations for a teamʼs successful adoption of BDD.

We start by immersing the whole team in BDD for a day to get everyone enthusiastic about the process. Then I take the programmers and testers and implement their very first scenario, end-to-end, on their own code. Now that we’ve proved it can be done, I work with project managers, product owners, and development leads, to streamline their agile process to get the best from BDD. We practice collaborative scenario-writing sessions, we learn how to use metrics to track progress, and how Kanban and BDD can fit into your existing agile process.

Please take a look at the course prospectus and get in touch to see how I can help.

I write software, and love learning how to do it even better.

  1. Hi Fred,

I’d be happy to help with that. My background is in C#, and I’ve recently been training a team who chose to use SpecFlow because they were working on the .NET stack. 75% of my training is the same whichever tool we use. It’s only when we come to write Your first scenario that we’ll choose the tool. SpecFlow is very similar to Cucumber in many respects, with some nice features to make it easy to work with from Visual Studio.

  2. If you happened upon this post because you are interested in hiring Matt for BDD training… I would highly recommend him. Fred(see above)hired him and I can tell you, without a doubt, our team has greatly benefited. I have been in IT for 13 years and have attended training classes on various subjects during my career. This was by far the most useful training I have ever attended.

  3. Hi Matt,

Do you offer open BDD and cucumber training courses that people like myself (freelance test engineer) can pay and book on to in 2012? Or do you just offer your services to companies interested in BDD and cucumber.

Loved the book btw, great read.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Hi Ian,

Yes, I do plan to run some public training courses this year. It’s nice to know there’s demand!

I’ll be in touch when I’ve fleshed out the details.

  5. Hi Matt,

    Registering more demand here!

Like Ian, I’d be very interested in hearing about some public training courses for this year. If you could forward that information to me as well, I’d be very grateful.

  6. Hi there,
I like the others would like to know if there is a public training course that you will be holding this year? Or can you do a one on one training?
